In example scientific research on the stomach content of Atlantic halibut from the important Icelandic fishing grounds in the North Atlantic showed that 75 % of the food by volume was redfish*. The adult redfish is abundant in deep water from 100-1000 m while smaller juveniles are found in Fjords, bays and inshore waters.
